There are not tools needed to remove and replace the side intake vent grill on a Land Rover LR3, Discovery 3. This procedure should be nearly identical on the LR4 and the Range Rover Sport from the same generation as the LR3.
To remove the vent grill, grab the lower edge of teh grill and pull out, do not grab the center or upper edge of the vent grill.
If your LR3 side vent intake grill is starting to look old and faded or the tabs that hold it on have worn out or broken, there are lots of options to replace it with an upgraded looking one that you can find on Amazon or Ebay.
