How to reset the Bosch E-15 Error Code

To reset the Bosch dishwasher E-15 error message you need to turn off the power to the dishwasher either by unplugging it, disconnecting the power or turning off the power at the breaker. You then need to pull the dishwasher out and tilt it back 45 degrees or close to it. If you have water in the base of the dishwasher you will want to have some towels ready to clean up the water.

What causes the Bosch E-15 Error Message?

The E-15 error code happens when your dishwasher has water leaking and trips the sensor in the base which then throws the code and many times will make the control panel go dark.

A common cause of the E-15 is when you load a large pan or cookie sheet on the left side of the dishwasher. There is a vent on the left side if if the pan directs water into the vent the water will end up in the base and tripping the water sensor.

Another cause of the E-15 code is using too much soap. The soap foams up and then pushes foam and water out the vent and down into the base of the dishwasher.

The not so happy way to get the E-15 error is when you have a loose hose connection, broken or cracked fitting or hose or seal. If your error code is caused by a broken part, you can buy many Bosch dishwasher replacement parts on Amazon here: http://amzn.to/2qRYf9L

Will this reset work on all Bosch dishwashers?

The E-15 reset should work on most modern Bosch dishwashers.

Does this error code reset work on other brands of dishwashers?

Maybe. Some brands of dishwasher are actually Bosch manufactured dishwashers. There are some models of Kenmore Elite dishwashers that are manufactured by Bosch and re-branded Kenmore Elite, so this error reset should work on those as well.
